In order to qualify for membership awards, the PTA unit must be in "Good Standing."  Below are the membership awards available. Membership payments and names of each member listed in GiveBacks must be remitted to the state office by the designated deadline.

Seedling Award

Certificate — Awarded to newly chartered or re-chartered PTAs upon submitting the required membership based on enrollment for chartering or re-chartering. May be earned at any time during the membership year.

 

Root Revival Award

Certificate — Awarded to PTAs that return to membership by submitting the minimum membership requirement for Good Standing after not reporting membership during the previous membership year.

October 1

Early Bird Award

Certificate awarded to all PTAs reporting 50% of the previous year’s membership. 

-PTAs must have reported a minimum of 10 memberships during the previous membership year to qualify. 

 

Golden Apple Award link to Google Form

Certificate awarded to all principals whose PTAs report 100% faculty membership.

-Faculty is defined as full-time certified personnel. Part-time employees and non-certified personnel are encouraged to join, but are not required to qualify for the Golden Apple Award.

 

December 1

Gold Leaf Award

Certificate awarded to all PTAs equaling or surpassing the previous year’s membership.

-PTAs must have reported a minimum of 10 memberships during the previous membership year to qualify. 

 

March 1

Oak Tree Award

Certificate awarded to all PTAs reporting a 20% increase over the previous year’s membership.

-PTAs must have reported a minimum of 10 memberships during the previous membership year to qualify. 

 

100% Membership Award

Certificate awarded to all PTAs reporting 100% membership (one paid member for each student enrolled at the beginning of the second month of school).

 

100% Membership Consecutive Years Award

Plaque awarded to all PTAs reporting 100% membership beginning with the fifth year of consecutive 100% membership.

 

Big Topper Award

Trophy awarded to all PTAs reporting 1,000 or more paid members.

 

Mighty Oak Award-plaque/small trophy

Every part of the tree is necessary to make a Mighty Oak.

Awarded to the PTA with the largest percentage increase in membership over the previous year within each category.

Categories are based on the PTA’s previous year's membership total:

• Roots — 10–50 members

• Trunk — 51–100 members

• Branches — 101–200 members

• Boughs — 201–300 members

• Crown — 301–500 members

• Canopy — 501+ members

COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP AWARD - Certificate awarded to the council with the highest percentage of increase in total membership (as reported by member PTAs) over the previous year's total membership, submitted to Alabama PTA postmarked by March 1.

HELEN TALBOT MEMBERSHIP ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - Certificate awarded to each council that has all member PTAs remitting dues to Alabama PTA postmarked by March 1.
