Alabama Immediate Past President Becky Vansant presented a workshop at the National PTA Convention in Charlotte, NC. Becky facilitated a discussion surrounding the College and Career Ready Standards focusing on how Alabama has overcome many of the challenges of retaining the standards in our state.
The discussion included understanding the difference between standards, assessments and curriculum. Becky also stressed the importance of partnerships and communication regarding the standards. PTA leaders from across the country participated in the workshop.
