Celebrate PTA!
September is
PTA Membership Month!
|
The power of PTA is in its membership.
PTA can and does improve education, health, and safety for every child but our voice is even more powerful with each additional member.

Membership Campaign Ideas
- Set a membership goal and celebrate with a school wide party.
- Have a classroom contest. The class that recruits the most members by a certain deadline wins a party, or every class with 100 percent participation (including the teacher) wins a party.
- Principal incentive. Ask your principal to do something off the wall if your membership goal is met.
- Post your school’s PTA memberships in the school lobby.
- Decorate classroom doors with PTA member’s names. For example write the student or parent’s name inside a star as members join.
- Put a decorated box with a slot in the top in the teacher’s lounge to provide an easy way for teachers and staff to join. Leave blank envelopes and extra membership forms next to the box.
- Reward students who bring in the most members, such as extra recess time, lunch with the principal, or enter their name for a special prize, etc.
- Reward teachers who recruit the most members by having the principal teach their class for an hour or give them a premier parking place.
- Reward parents who recruit the most members by giving them a premier parking place, gift card, or family dinner package at their favorite restaurant.
- Sell business memberships to area businesses. Present the businesses with a certificate or plaque at a PTA General Meeting.
